Free Training: When Your Trauma Client Can't Feel Safe — A Polyvagal Approach to Reaching the Nervous System Standard Therapy Misses

With Courtney Rolfe, LCPC — Trauma Specialist & One of the Country's Leading Polyvagal Theory Educators

Your client can talk about the trauma — but the moment real connection is possible, they shut down or freeze. That's a nervous system stuck in survival. This free masterclass teaches you neuroception mapping, co-regulation, and autonomic state tracking to help clients feel safe enough to heal.

6 Hours of Polyvagal Trauma Training for the Moment a Client's Nervous System Pulls Them Out of Reach

Polyvagal Regulation for Trauma Training: Helping Clients Feel Safe, Grounded & Present

MODULE 1

Why Your Trauma Client's Nervous System Ignores Everything You Say

How to map the three autonomic circuits so clients can finally track what their body is doing, not just what their mind knows.

MODULE 2

Why Trauma Clients Vanish Mid-Session Without Leaving the Chair

How to spot freeze, collapse, and shut down in real time before the window for connection closes.

MODULE 3

Why Feeling Safe Is the One Thing Trauma Clients Cannot Choose to Feel

How neuroception hijacks the nervous system before the conscious mind gets a vote and how to work with it, not against it.

MODULE 4

Why the Therapy Is Working, but the Body Keeps Pulling Them Back

How Polyvagal-informed co-regulation reaches the autonomic patterns that insight alone cannot touch.

MODULE 5

Why Your Presence in the Room Is Already a Clinical Intervention

How to use co-regulation, vocal tone, and proximity deliberately so your nervous system becomes the safety your client's never had.

MODULE 6

Why Clients Regulate in Session and Fall Apart the Moment They Leave

How to build autonomic awareness and self-regulation capacity that holds outside the therapy room.

Learn From a Leading Polyvagal Theory Trainer & Clinical Trauma Specialist:

Courtney Rolfe, LCPC

Courtney Rolfe, LCPC, has spent years inside the therapy room with trauma clients whose nervous systems would not cooperate. Clients who understood their trauma, did the work, and still couldn't feel safe in their own bodies. That clinical reality is what drove her to become one of the foremost experts in the practical, session-by-session application of Polyvagal Theory, teaching therapists across the globe how to work with the autonomic nervous system directly: reading states in real time, using co-regulation as a clinical tool, and building felt safety for clients whose bodies have never experienced it.

Courtney is a senior trainer in Deb Dana's Foundations of Polyvagal-Informed Practice, one of a small, selective group certified to teach this framework at its highest level. She is also the co-author of Polyvagal Prompts, published by W.W. Norton alongside Deb Dana herself. What she brings to May 14th is a nervous system-informed clinical framework built specifically for the moments freeze, shutdown, collapse, flooding that your current trauma training was never designed to reach.

The Difference Between Sitting With a Dysregulated Client and Actually Reaching Their Nervous System

WITH THIS MASTERCLASS:

  • You can read your client's autonomic state before shutdown closes the session

  • You know how to co-regulate when words stop reaching the nervous system

  • You can build felt safety for clients whose bodies have never experienced it

  • You know why your client can't feel safe and exactly what to do

WITHOUT THIS MASTERCLASS:

  • A trauma client freezes mid-session, and you can't read what their nervous system just did

  • Your client understands the trauma completely, and their body still won't release it

  • Co-regulation keeps failing because you don't know how to use your own nervous system

  • A client finishes months of trauma treatment and still cannot feel safe in their body

Frequently Asked Questions

How many CEs do I receive, and what does it cost?

The live Masterclass is free. The VIP ticket, 9 board-approved CEs plus lifetime recording access, is $67 and available for purchase at the next step after registration.

What is included in the CE upgrade?

The VIP ticket is $67 and includes lifetime recording access to the full Polyvagal Regulation for Trauma Masterclass plus 9 board-approved CEs. Available at the next step after registration.

Can I get the recording if I cannot attend live?

Yes. The VIP ticket is $67 and includes lifetime recording access to everything Courtney teaches, whether you attend live or not. Available at the next step after registration.

Do I receive CEs just for attending live?

No. Attending live gives you the training. The VIP ticket at $67 gives you the CEs and lifetime recording access. Available at the next step after registration.

Are the CEs board-approved for my license?

Yes. Click the Board Approvals at the bottom of this page to confirm approval for your specific license and state.

I already use somatic and trauma-informed approaches. Is this going to tell me anything I don't already know?

Possibly not about trauma in general. Almost certainly yes, about the nervous system specifically. Most trauma training never addresses how to read autonomic states in real time, why co-regulation is the intervention and not the warm-up, or why clients can complete trauma treatment and still not feel safe in their body. If you have ever watched a client do everything right and still not regulate, this Masterclass addresses that clinical gap directly.

I primarily work with anxiety and depression, not trauma. Is this relevant to my practice?

Yes. Anxiety and depression both live in the autonomic nervous system. Clients presenting with chronic anxiety frequently have a nervous system locked in mobilization they cannot override, and clients presenting with depression often have a shutdown response, driving the flatness you see in session. Courtney's framework helps you identify what the nervous system is doing underneath the diagnosis before you treat the symptom.

I have attended Polyvagal Theory trainings before and found them too theoretical. How is this different?

Most Polyvagal trainings stop at the science. Courtney's framework addresses the session-level application of how to track autonomic states as they shift in real time, how to use your own nervous system as a co-regulation tool, and how to build felt safety for clients whose bodies have never experienced it. The theory is the foundation. This Masterclass is what you do with it.

What if I can only attend part of the live training?

The recording covers everything Courtney teaches. Lifetime access is available for purchase at the next step, so no section of the framework is lost if your schedule does not allow full attendance.
