Webinar Starts In:

When Youth Therapy Gets Stuck: Trauma, Anxiety, and Emotional Dysregulation in Children

Six Hours of Somatic Intervention Training You Will Use the Next Time a Client Freezes in Session

The Traumatized Nervous System Masterclass: Somatic Interventions for Freeze, Dissociation & Trauma Recovery

MODULE 1

Why Your Trauma Client's Body Shuts Down Before the Session Even Gets Close to the Memory

The sympathetic and parasympathetic responses that drive freeze and shutdown, and why they activate before the client can choose otherwise.

MODULE 2

When a Client's Eyes Go Flat, Voice Drops, and Jaw Loosens Mid-Session

How to identify hyperarousal and hypoarousal by what you see in the body, so you know which state you are in before you intervene.

MODULE 3

Why Asking a Frozen Client to Process the Trauma Reenacts It Instead of Healing It

The clinical mechanism behind retraumatization in session, & the specific signs that your session has crossed from therapeutic into harmful.

MODULE 4

The specific in-session signals that tell you a client has dissociated and the body-based response that pulls them back before the session clock runs out.

How to interrupt a dissociative response before the session ends with the client still shut down and the trauma untouched.

MODULE 5

Why Trauma Clients Pull Away From Breathwork and Body-Based Work the Moment You Introduce It

What somatic resistance actually signals in a dysregulated nervous system, and how to introduce resourcing without triggering deeper shutdown.

MODULE 6

The Six Body-Based Techniques That Reach a Frozen Nervous System When Grounding and Reflection Have Already Failed

Breathwork, movement, safe self-touch, and power poses are applied specifically to freeze and dissociation, ready to use in your next session.

LEARN SOMATIC INTERVENTION FROM THE CLINICIAN WHO HAS SPENT 35 YEARS IN THE ROOM WITH THE MOST TRAUMATIZED CLIENTS IN EXISTENCE

Lisa Ferentz, LCSW-C, DAPA

Lisa Ferentz has been in private practice for over 35 years, and in that time, she has built her entire clinical identity around one conviction: trauma symptoms are not pathology. They are the way a person survives. That distinction changes everything about how she sits with a frozen, dissociative, or shutdown client, and it is the foundation of every somatic intervention she teaches on May 6th.

She is the founder of The Ferentz Institute, now in its eighteenth year of providing continuing education to mental health professionals, and has graduated several thousand clinicians from her two Certificate Programs in Advanced Trauma Treatment. Her work as a clinical consultant spans agencies across the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Poland, and Spain. Janina Fisher and Dick Schwartz, developers of Internal Family Systems therapy, have both publicly praised her training. What she brings to May 6th is not a theory of somatic intervention; it is 35 years of body-based clinical work refined into a framework you can use the next time a client goes flat mid-session.

The Difference Between Sitting With a Frozen Client and Actually Reaching One

WITH THIS MASTERCLASS:

  • You know exactly what to do the moment a client's eyes go flat, and voice drops

  • A frozen nervous system is no longer the moment your clinical toolkit runs out

  • You can tell hyperarousal from hypoarousal before you reach for a single intervention

  • The client has been frozen across from you for eight months, and finally has a clinician who can reach their nervous system

WITHOUT THIS MASTERCLASS:

  • A client goes flat mid-session, and you are still reaching for grounding language that already failed them

  • The trauma lives in the body, and nothing in the session is touching where it actually lives

  • Every freeze response ends the same way: the session closes, and trauma stays exactly where it was

  • Your most traumatized clients keep coming back every week and never move

Frequently Asked Questions

How many CEs do I receive, and what does it cost?

The Masterclass itself is completely free to attend live. After registration, you will have the option to upgrade to 9 board-approved CEs plus lifetime recording access for $67 before the Masterclass begins. That rate increases to $97 after May 6th. The 9 CEs include 6 for the Masterclass and 3 for the bonus course: Waking the Tiger Within: Healing Trauma Through the Body with Dr. Peter Levine.

Are the CEs board-approved for my license?

Yes. The CEs are board-approved for LCSWs, LPCs, LMFTs, psychologists, and other licensed mental health professionals. Click the Board Approvals button below to see the full list of approved licensing boards for your state.

What is included in the CE upgrade?

The CE upgrade includes 9 board-approved CEs, lifetime recording access to the full Masterclass, and the bonus course Waking the Tiger Within: Healing Trauma Through the Body with Dr. Peter Levine — exclusively available to CE buyers and not sold separately.

Can I get the recording if I cannot attend live?

Yes. Lifetime recording access is included with the CE upgrade. If you cannot attend May 6th live, the recording gives you everything Lisa covers — every somatic intervention, every nervous system framework, every body-based technique — available permanently on your own schedule.

Do I receive CEs just for attending live?

No. CEs are available for purchase in the next step after registration. Attending the live Masterclass is free. The CE upgrade at $67 gives you 9 board-approved CEs plus lifetime recording access.

I already use some somatic techniques with trauma clients. Is this going to tell me anything I do not already know?

If you already know how to read hyperarousal and hypoarousal states in real time, interrupt a dissociative response before it ends the session, and apply breathwork, movement, and safe self-touch to a nervous system in freeze — this may cover familiar ground. If there has ever been a moment where a client went flat mid-session and you were not certain which state you were sitting with or which intervention to reach for first, this training was built for exactly that moment.

I primarily work with anxiety and depression. Is this relevant to my practice?

Trauma responses — freeze, shutdown, and dissociation — present in clients who have never been formally diagnosed with PTSD. Clients carrying anxiety and depression with trauma histories will move outside their window of tolerance in session. When that happens, talk therapy stops reaching them. This training gives you the clinical framework for those exact moments, regardless of the primary diagnosis on the chart.

I have attended somatic trainings before and found them too abstract to apply in session. How is this different?

Lisa Ferentz has spent 35 years in the room with the most traumatized, dissociative, and freeze-prone clients in existence. Every technique she teaches on May 6th comes directly from that clinical experience. The six somatic resourcing techniques — breathwork, movement, safe self-touch, power poses, grounding, and containment — are taught with the specific clinical decision-making framework for knowing which one to reach for and when. You leave with a protocol, not a philosophy.

What if I can only attend part of the live training?

Attend whatever portion of May 6th you can. CE buyers have lifetime recording access to the full Masterclass, so anything you miss live is permanently available to return to whenever a case demands it.

What licenses qualify for these CEs?

Click the Board Approvals button below for the complete list. The CEs are approved for the majority of licensed mental health professionals including LCSWs, LPCs, LMFTs, and psychologists across most US states.
