When Youth Therapy Gets Stuck: Trauma, Anxiety, and Emotional Dysregulation in Children
Misdiagnosed ADHD & Autism Masterclass: Differential Diagnosis & Neuro-Affirming Interventions
MODULE 1
Learn exactly how masking, late diagnosis, and overlapping presentations cause ADHD and autism to look like anxiety, depression, and personality disorders — and why standard clinical training was never built to catch this.
MODULE 2
The clinical decision-making framework for differentiating ADHD from autism across cognitive, sensory, relational, and functional domains — so you stop guessing and start identifying with confidence.
MODULE 3
When ADHD and autism occur together they do not simply add up. They create an entirely distinct clinical picture that most differential diagnosis frameworks were not built to identify — and this module gives you the tools to catch it.
MODULE 4
The standard diagnostic criteria were built around hyperactive eight-year-old boys. This module covers how ADHD and autism actually present in the clients who have spent decades learning to hide it — and how to assess them accurately.
MODULE 5
These are the two most commonly confused presentations in neurodivergent adults. This module gives you the specific clinical indicators that distinguish autistic burnout from depression — and the intervention each one actually requires.
MODULE 6
Person-centered, trauma-informed, and immediately applicable. This module covers how to build a treatment plan that works with your client's neurotype — not against it — from the first session forward.

Kelly Pickens did not come to this work through a textbook. She came to it at 48 years old, sitting in a CE course on adult ADHD, realizing for the first time that every slide was describing her. Two years later, she identified as autistic. She had spent decades in therapy, on antidepressants, and in clinical practice — never once accurately identified. That experience did not become a story she tells for effect. It became the clinical lens she teaches from.
With over 20 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner and two ADHD certifications — ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider and Certified Attention Deficit Consultant — Kelly founded Undivided Attention, a specialized practice built entirely around ADHD and autism assessment and treatment in adults. What she brings to April 30th is not an overview of neurodivergence. It is the specific differential diagnosis framework, masking indicators, and neuro-affirming intervention tools she uses every week with clients who spent years being treated for anxiety and depression they never had.

You know exactly whether your client has ADHD, autism, or both, without second-guessing yourself
The AuDHD client who never fit any single diagnosis finally has a clinician who can read them accurately
You stop treating the mask and start treating the neurotype underneath it
High-masking and late-diagnosed clients finally get an assessment built for their actual brain
Every treatment plan you build is grounded in the right neurotype, not the most convenient diagnosis
Your most complex neurodivergent clients keep failing treatment and you keep running out of rationale
The client who masks every session stays invisible, because nothing in your training was built to see through it
You refer out your AuDHD clients because you cannot tell ADHD from autism from burnout
Late-diagnosed adults accumulate another year of wrong treatment while the window keeps closing
The co-occurring presentation that walked into your office walks back out unidentified, again

Recommending mindfulness and using it as a live clinical intervention are two different skill sets. This Masterclass teaches the specific in-session protocols for the moment a client dysregulates, which most mindfulness trainings never cover.
Yes. The nervous system dysregulation, emotional reactivity, and survival patterns Dr. South addresses are present across every adult population. The frameworks apply directly to any client who triggers, shuts down, or goes unreachable mid-session.
Dr. South teaches step-by-step in-session protocols, not theory. Every intervention is built for the live clinical moment, not for after the session ends.
This training is intermediate to advanced level. It covers differential diagnosis, high-masking presentations, the AuDHD co-occurring profile, and autistic burnout — clinical territory most standard ADHD training does not reach.
